Almost two weeks ago we packed up our home in Marion, Indiana, to leave for Texas. It was quite a challenge to pack up with a toddler underfoot! Thanks to our friends who helped us! Lisa, thanks for watching Jayden for us! Allen and Anita, thanks for helping us clean. Dean and Dean, thank for you help loading the truck! We have been so blessed by our many friends in Grant County. We already miss you.

We rented a 22 ft. Penske truck to haul our possessions to Texas. Gerson drove it while I drove our car.

We were exhausted when all was said and done, but relieved to be packed up. We stayed at the WGM Abbott Center for almost a week, since we had a mission conference to attend before leaving on our trip. (I'll try to post pictures from those days in another post.)

We took our time getting to Texas. Our first day was the slowest -- we only made it about 300 miles and stopped in Southern Illinois. The second day we made it to Southern Mississippi. The third day we only traveled a couple of hours to Beaumont, Texas, where my brother Peter lives. We stayed with him and rested half a day. Pete just got back from Iraq, so it was wonderful to catch up with him. Then, on day four, we arrived in McAllen, Texas -- our new home!

We stayed in the WGM guesthouse in McAllen for 2 nights while we unpacked the truck and set beds up. Jayden was THRILLED to get out of the car/truck (he traveled two days with me in the car and two days with his dad in the truck!) and roll/run around! Now when we put him in his carseat, he looks up at us and it's obvious he's wondering how long THIS trip is going to be! We are so thankful to be in McAllen. Thanks for all who prayed for us. It was a smooth trip in every sense! We praise the Lord!

So glad that it went so smoothly and that you have finally made it! Great job persevering through all the packing, traveling, and unpacking. We'll continue to pray for the rest of your transition to life in Texas. We're sad to not have you as close anymore, but so glad you love where you are!
Thanks, Elissa! We're so happy to be here. We miss everyone up north, but know this is where we're supposed to be. Love you guys!
Look at Jayden's hair!!! All those curls!
So glad you made it safely to McAllen.
Our move won't take quite that long - - - but it's long enough!
So glad you made it safely! Sounds like it went well. Jayden is such a great traveler! :)
It good to know that you are in Mc Allen. I know you have been waiting a long time. We will look forward to see how the Lord is using you there as you get into ministry!
Yes, Brooke, Jayden is an incredible traveler! We're so blessed!
Ann, thanks for your prayers and encouragement during hard days!
Keetha, Jayden's curls get commented on whereever we go! However, we're going to have to cut them soon. They are getting too long and bothering him AND people often think he's a girl. :(
