Changes

Jayden is almost 10 months old! It's so hard to believe. How the time flies! He now has a chair he sits in at the table and in addition to drinking his milk, he has added Gerber 1st Baby Foods to his diet. He likes everything ---- carrots, green beans, sweet peas, pears, apples, bananas, etc. See that big grin? He's a boy --- if it's food, bring it on!
Although he is growing and changing, we realize we are blessed at this time in his life when he is pretty immoble still. It's easy to contain him in his Pack 'N Play or corral him on the floor in between pillows. We know that won't last for long! When we were in Illinois at my grandpa's funeral, we spent time with my nephews. That's when we realized what we're in for! In the picture above, Cousin Joshua decided to leap into bed with Jayden! Thankfully, Uncle Gerson was right there to grab him before he landed on Cousin Jayden! We know that Jayden will someday be up to those same antics! Thanks for the crash course, Joshua!

Jayden is very curious boy. He explores EVERYTHING. He wants to touch and feel everything. The other day I took him into our bedroom and where the carpet is thicker and longer than the carpet in the living room. As he sat on our carpet, he ran his fingers through the carpet and kept looking at me with wonder in his eyes! Every discovery is like that. It's precious to watch him. He also loves music. We often play music or sing to him to get him to sleep --- especially in the car. Sometimes it sounds like he's trying to sing along with us! We've even seen him bounce to the rhythm!

He is now standing, although he needs help. He can hold onto the couch or coffee table, or hold onto our hands and stand. Of course, he's still a little wobbly and needs someone behind him in case he starts to tumble, but overall he does a wonderful job of standing.

Jayden is still not sleeping through the night. *SIGH* However, when we were in Texas, he began moving around in his sleep. We noticed one night that he was sleeping on his tummy. No matter how we placed him when we put him bed, he would turn over and sleep with his rear in the air. It was darling! Although we still get up at least once a night to feed Jayden, he is taking longer naps during the day. That helps! We are so pleased with his progress and continue to watch him in wonder as he grows and develops. We are so blessed!
