I realize I've spent my whole life in the hospital, but I definitely know what I like and what I don't like. I like being held. I like people. When I'm alone in my room, I sometimes get grumpy. I just want to be where all the action is! Nurse Joy says I'm nosy and want to be in the middle of everything. She's got me figured out! My mommy holds me and loves on me. I love cuddling with her and falling asleep in her arms.
I also love my daddy. He always takes time to play with me while my mommy is busy with other things. I really like soccer. Daddy is trying to help my learn some kicking techniques. I practice those a lot. He also is excited that my neck is getting stronger. That's important if I'm going to use my head to make some goals! My favorite rattle is the one with the soccer balls. It motivates me to keep getting stronger!
My nurses spoil me. When I get fussy and my mommy and daddy aren't there, the nurses know just what to do. This is another one of my favorite things. This bouncy seat has a vibrator and a mobile that hangs on it. If I can't be held, this is a great option for me.
I also have a swing in my room. My old swing kept running out of battery power, so they found a new swing for me that plugs into the wall. That way I can swing, and swing, and swing to my heart's content. I'd rather be held, but this is much better than just lying in my bed. I like the music that plays as I swing. Listening to music helps me fall to sleep.
Have I mentioned that my nurses spoil me? Nurse Erin, Nurse Joy, and Nurse Stacy SPOIL me. They are very protective of me and love me very much. They give me pep talks and tell me that although they are going to miss me when I go home, they want me to get better quickly. They a so wonderful! I love them all!
The nurses are now encouraging me to take a bottle. I have to admit I don't quite get it. They tell me that I chomp rather than suck. I wish I could suck better! Please pray that I catch on!! I just can't seem to get the Pedialite out of the bottle, and I really need to learn. I'm thankful for nurses who encourage me and are patient with me.
My doctors are also some of my favorite people. One doctor thinks I don't like him much, and he often calls Mom and tells her that I threw things at him when he was doing my assessment. He's pretty funny! They are all good to me and have taken very good care of me. They are going to try to have a care conference with mommy and daddy next week. Pray that they are able to come up with some goals and plans for my going home. This is a BIG step!!
I also LOVE visitors. Some of mommy and daddy's friends, the Seldens, came to visit me. They both held me, and Anita even got teary-eyed. I think she kind of liked me! :) We had a very nice visit. If you'd like to come visit me, I'd love to meet you! Having visitors just gives me more time in someone's arms ---which is another favorite thing of mine! So, come on over to visit. Mommy will let you hold me! (She spoils me, too!)
