Brighter Days

This is how our precious son looks these days. He is still hooked up to the ventilator, but the doctors are weaning him off of it little by little and he continues to do well with those changes. We are hopeful that in the next few days he will come off of it completely. Please pray he is able to come off of it with no complications and be able to breathe on his own.

The doctors continue to do tests to try to figure out what is happening in his body. We are just thankful he continues to hold on and that he has had a record amount of days of tolerating his feedings! We believe there are brighter days ahead. It appears he has turned a corner for the better and we are praising God!

Please pray that his progress continues. 
It's been hard for me to see Jayden hooked up to so many things. He continues to grow, but he also retaining a lot of fluids due to the medicines he is on. I'm looking forward to the day when I can pick him up and not have to worry about any cables and tubes!!! We are hopeful that that day is approaching soon. Again, thanks for your continued prayers. We'll continue to keep you posted.

Winter Wonderland

Gerson and I are enjoying the beautiful scenery right outside our door. Although the snow and ice have made our travels to Indy to see Jayden more adventurous, we love the beauty of it.
Gerson is having a good time with winter in the States. Today he was given this Bolivian-colored hat. Daudi Strong brought it to him from Peru. Gerson tried it on and found it to be quite warm! He hasn't worn it in public yet, but we're looking forward to seeing the looks he receives when he does!
The pond outside our house was frozen over on Christmas day. Gerson and I took a walk and he decided to follow in Christ's footsteps and "walk" on "water!" 
However, after he put his weight on the ice, we heard a loud noise and he quickly put one foot back on solid ground!
I guess walking on water isn't as easy as we thought it was! :)
Brrrrrr. Although the snow is beautiful, we are having to bundle up these days. It's tough coming to wintery Indiana after leaving a Bolivian summer.
