On July 16, 2009, we had another answer to prayer. We traveled to Indy with the purpose of Jayden getting his G-tube out. He had not had to use his G-tube for 2 months, so the doctor was ready to take it out. We had purposely not fed Jayden even though at the time of his appointment it was time for his feeding. We knew that if we fed him, there would be fountain of milk when the G-tube was removed. By the time we saw the doctor, Jayden was beside himself with hunger.

The doctor, the nurse practitioner, and the nurse were all thrilled with our decision to wait to give him his milk! They successfully took out his G-tube and quickly covered the hole. We wasted no time in giving Jayden his bottle. He downed it! On the way home, most of that milk seeped through his hole and soaked his dressing and clothes. We had to have clothing change on the way home!

We only had to change his dressing once a day for about 2 days. During that time, we also were changed his milk from 24 calories to 20 calories. As you can tell by the photos, the doctor told us he was gaining plenty of weight and it was time that he consume less calories per day. Sounds like a diet, doesn't it?

The hole healed over very quickly. Jayden didn't seem to miss his G-tube at all!

Now he's having fun discovering a whole new world while lying on his stomach! He's having a much easier time rolling over and lying on his tummy. We praise the Lord for continuing to touch our son and for bringing healing to his body.

I don't know, April. I still thing Jayden against Asher is like David and Goliath! We do need to get together again, though.
So wonderful! I am so thrilled to see the amazing progress he continues to make. Hope the "diet" doesn't work too well...all that baby chub is just too adorable! :o)
