Family, Friends, Fun, and Furlough

Over Memorial Day weekend we were blessed to have some visitors. My sister Jamie came down from Fort Wayne to be with us. In addition, my younger brother Andy, his wife Elissa, and their two boys, Joshua and John traveled down from Wisconsin. It was the first time the cousins have been together! It was fun to see them "meet" and be together. The Bennett kids have entered a new era ----- we're now the parents! (Left to Right - John, Joshua, Jayden)
The week prior to Memorial Day, we had a special family visit us. The Phillips family is another missionary family to Bolivia. (L to R - Len, Luke, Abby, Anna, Jayden, Betsy) I was Abby's teacher when she was a 6th grader! Pray for Len, Betsy (the "other" Betsy, as we often tease) and their kids as they finish their furlough (Homeland Ministry Assignment). They need to be able to return to Bolivia before the kids begin school in August.
Gerson is thrilled that the weather is warmer. He is finding things to do around our home. We live on a beautiful property and he often fishes in the pond. 
He considers himself a professional fisherman since he was able to catch TWO fish on one hook! He left the pole and came to eat lunch; when he returned, he was surprised to find that a small fish had gotten hooked, and it appears that a larger fish thought the smaller fish would make a good meal! Hence, TWO in ONE! If you look closely, you can see the little guy's tail in the mouth of the big guy.
We also found a bicycle at a garage sale. Gerson has enjoyed it and used it quite a bit. In addition, he has put in a vegetable garden for us and is working on our flower bed. His English skills continue to improve. Please pray for him as he continues to learn and communicate in English. 

Thanks for your continued prayers for us. We are really trying to schedule meetings and share with people about where God is leading us. We have been really busy still with follow-up appointments for Jayden, but those are now starting to dwindle and we are now able to focus much more on our Homeland Ministry Assignment (furlough). We need wisdom, boldness, and good time management. 

Jayden continues to improve. We are hoping he will be able to get off the apnea monitor in the next week or so. In addition, he is taking everything (milk and meds) by mouth, so in about two months or so, we should be able to remove his G-tube. The doctors continue to be amazed and we continue to give God the glory. Jayden is truly our miracle child. Thanks again for all your prayers for him and for us. Now that he is doing so well and stable, we are able to switch our focus to our furlough. PLEASE pray for us as we continue to walk by faith, trusting in God's provision and faithfulness.
